I seriously want the Pentax 50mm f1.4

My current 50mm of choice is an Auto Sears f1.7 and don’t let the “Auto” fool you, that thing is all manual. Not that I have anything against it being manual, there are some situations where AF is a HUGE plus. Before that, my 50 of choice was a Pentax smc M f2. Why downgrade to a Sears branded Ricoh? The rich colors, awesome contrast, and incredible sharpness, even more than the vintage Pentax. If only Pentax made a 50mm AF that was along the lines of the Canon 50mm f1.8 at around the same price. Oh well…

Bought yet another lens from the same thrift store as the last one

This time it’s an 80-200mm f4 Sears Auto Zoom. All manual Pentax K-mount of course, since that’s my true love anyway. Paid a lovely $5 for it, perfect condition. Not a scratch on the glass nor the barrel. Everything works smoothly too, and it takes nice pictures. I see the list price on ebay is $85. Makes me glad that I like other people’s “junk” so much.

Oh really? Cause I just bought this very same lens from a thrift store for $2. I think I’ll stick to thrift shopping instead.

Got another lens today, for $2

Sure its just another old manual 50mm f1.7 Auto Sears, but it makes for some really nice shots. And the price was right. But heck, half the fun is in the excitement of finding things like that hidden in the back of a display case at a thrift store.

Anyone know the cheapest place to get a Pentax K-5?

I mean VERY cheap. That and/or some Pentax DA* telephoto lenses like the 60-250mm f4 of the 300mm f4. I’m looking into an upgrade on glass and something that shoots video.

I love old (vintage) manual lenses

I’ve been going through this phase recently where I’m using my old manual lenses on my DSLR and I’m loving the results. I use my 30 something year old 50mm more than my brand new optics because I tend to get much better shots with it. I wish old Pentax lenses were cheaper, M42 screw mount and bayonet mount.

Yeah, new glass can wait

It can at least wait until I get the money to get the lens I really want. I know how to use Photoshop lol

I really want the Pentax SMC 60-250mm F4 DA* ED IF SDM

But its WAY outta my league as far as price, sadly.
